Data recovery process – step by step

From your first report to final data handover. See what happens to your device in our laboratory.

Work on a binary image (no risk to the original) Confidentiality (NDA/GDPR) HDD • SSD/NVMe • RAID/NAS

Your path through the laboratory

We handle every case in a clear order: first device safety, then diagnostics, then a clear quote, and only then the actual recovery work. This way, you always know what stage we are at and what comes next.

  1. 01

Report the case and deliver the device

In person • Courier • Parcel locker

You fill in a short form or call us. After the form is submitted, we can send you a ready-made courier label or a parcel-locker drop-off code by email so you do not have to organise anything on your own. We collect the symptoms (for example RAW, no detection, clicking, or “degraded” RAID) and define the safest way to deliver the device. If there is a risk of worsening its condition, we tell you what to stop immediately.

    • You can deliver the device in person or ship it from anywhere in Poland.
    • If time matters, we can arrange either the standard or the express workflow.
  2. 02

    Free diagnosis

Laboratory diagnosis • no upfront cost

The media goes to the diagnostic area. The technician determines whether the issue is logical, firmware-related, electronic or mechanical. If we see technical risk, we prepare the safest working copy first instead of “testing on the live device” and increasing the damage.

    • Diagnostics are free — before you make a decision, you already know the situation.
    • We do not run CHKDSK-type repairs on damaged media.
  3. 03

    Report and quotation

    Clear plan • No surprises

After diagnosis, you receive a clear report: what is damaged, what the risks are, and which method we will use. On this basis, we prepare the quote and the available work options (standard / express). Only after your approval do we start the actual work.

    • You know what the process involves and what you are paying for.
    • If you decide not to continue, the device is returned to you.
  4. 04

    Recovery process

    Safety first • recovery second

Depending on the case, we perform safe sector-by-sector imaging, file-system reconstruction, RAID reconstruction or hardware work (for example cleanroom procedures or electronics work). Our standard is to work from a binary image first — the original device is protected.

    • We minimise direct reads from the damaged device so it is not “worn out” by repeated attempts.
    • We choose the strategy individually for HDD, SSD, NVMe and RAID cases — there are no universal “tricks”.
  5. 05

Verification and delivery of recovered data

    File consistency • safe handover

After recovery, we verify data consistency and prepare handover on a new drive or on the return media agreed with you. We can copy the recovered data to your supplied device, or you can buy a new USB flash drive, HDD or SSD from us, prepared and ready to use. The client can verify the files and, on request, receives a list of recovered data and a work report.

    • We hand the data back in an organised structure — without chaos and without guesswork.
    • Media and recovered data are kept in controlled conditions; NDA is available on request.

Important: If the device is damaged, do not run CHKDSK and do not try to “repair” it by force. See: what you absolutely should not do when the data matters.

How to deliver a drive safely

Good packaging can save the data. If the device has been dropped or is clicking, proper transport protection is essential.

Protect it with bubble wrap

Wrap the device in several layers. The goal is to absorb shocks and eliminate movement inside the parcel.

Rigid box and filling material

Choose a rigid box and add filling material (foam or paper). The parcel must not move around inside.

Attach your contact details and a symptom description

A note with your phone number, email address and the symptoms (for example RAW, clicking, not detected) helps us start the diagnosis faster.

Want to send your device? The fastest way is to use the case submission form — we will send you safe packing instructions and confirm the shipping details.

Already know how it works? Describe the symptoms and choose the safest first step.

Not sure whether to call, use the form or ship the media? Send the symptoms first. We will tell you the safest next step.
