We recover photos, RAW files and video footage from the media used by photographers and film crews. Lost wedding photos, damaged footage from a film set or a memory card failure after an important event require a fast diagnosis and a safe recovery workflow. Dysk i Spółka – Data Recovery Laboratory in Warsaw helps professional photographers and film crews in critical situations. We know there is no room for error here — every file affects your reputation and your income.
What media do we recover data from?
We specialise in modern media used in mirrorless cameras, cinema cameras and audio recorders.
We handle all professional memory card standards
Thanks to our advanced hardware setup (laboratory readers, NAND adapters), we recover data from media that many other providers cannot handle:
-
Professional:
CFexpress Type A
(Sony Alpha) and
Type B
(Canon R5, Nikon Z9),
XQD
(Nikon, Sony),
CFast 2.0
(Blackmagic, Canon), CompactFlash (CF),
RED MINI MAG.
-
Standard:
SD, SDHC, SDXC (UHS-I, UHS-II, V60, V90).
-
Mobile and drones:
microSD, microSDHC, microSDXC (GoPro, DJI Mavic/Mini).
-
SSD drives:
External SSDs (SanDisk Extreme, Samsung T5/T7) used for offloading footage on set.
-
Legacy formats:
Memory Stick (MS), xD Picture Card, MMC.
Typical failures and situations where we help
Not just “deleted files”. We solve the specific problems common in the photo and video industry:
-
Repair of damaged video files (Video Repair): Files that have size but do not play back correctly (MP4, MOV, MXF, DAT, MDT, RSV — for example after power loss on Sony devices).
- Accidentally deleted photos or a
card format
performed in the camera.
- A memory card shown as “not formatted” or with a RAW file system.
- A “Card Error” or “Unable to use memory card” message in the camera.
- An external drive dropped on set or disconnected unsafely during offload.
- Read problems caused by bad sectors immediately before delivering the final work to a client.
-
Recovery of RAW photo files:
CR3 (Canon), NEF (Nikon), ARW (Sony), RAF (Fuji), DNG.
Our laboratory workflow — step by step
1. Contact and triage
Briefly describe the equipment, the media and the failure circumstances. We tell you what you absolutely must not do so you do not overwrite the data. The initial phone consultation is free.
2. Media diagnostics
At our laboratory in Białołęka, we check the condition of the card or drive electronics, assess the type of damage (logical / physical / firmware) and estimate the recovery chances.
3. Imaging — sector-by-sector copy (safety)
We work exclusively on a sector-by-sector image (a 1:1 image), never on the original. This reduces the risk of making the media condition worse. It is the standard in professional digital forensics.
4. Recovery and verification (QC)
We recover photos and video files while preserving the folder structure (for example DCIM) whenever possible. We verify samples — checking whether RAW files can still be opened and whether videos scrub and play correctly.
5. Data handover
The recovered data is copied to your drive or to a new storage device.
Why does the creative industry choose Dysk i Spółka?
-
Knowledge of the equipment: We understand how a Sony A7SIII stores data and how a Blackmagic Pocket does it. We also understand file formats such as RSV and BRAW.
-
Hardware, not just software: We work with professional controllers (PC-3000 Flash) that let us read NAND memory directly, bypassing the damaged controller on the card.
-
Honesty: We do not promise miracles when the memory is physically cracked. We give you a clear diagnosis.
- Deadline mode: expedited work is possible after phone confirmation when a client is waiting for the photos or footage.
- Confidentiality (NDA): We guarantee discretion. We handle embargoed and confidential materials.
How to protect the media after failure? (Emergency checklist)
To maximise the chances of success:
- STOP: Do not take one more photo. Do not record more footage. New data can overwrite deleted material.
- Do not format it: formatting in the camera may reset file-system structures and make recovery harder.
- Do not use free recovery tools: if the card has physical damage, “home scanning” can finish it off thermally.
- Isolation: remove the card / drive and place it somewhere safe.
- Call us: consult the case with our laboratory.
