At Dysk i Spółka, we work as a laboratory for damaged storage media: we perform diagnostics, prepare a safe sector-by-sector image and recover files from the copy, not live from the damaged device. We handle cases from all over Poland by courier, and locally in Warsaw.

A safe recovery procedure available across Poland

Every failure case is analysed individually, so the recovery method matches the device, symptoms and damage type. A clicking HDD, a disappearing NVMe drive, a degraded NAS and a formatted memory card need different first steps. If you are unsure what to do first, start with safe first steps after a drive stops working.

If you cannot bring the device in person, use the courier option. Follow the packing and shipping guide, describe the symptoms and keep the original device powered off until the laboratory confirms the next step.

If needed, an NDA can be signed before work begins.

What not to do if your data matters

  • Do not keep restarting a computer with a drive that makes unusual sounds.
  • Do not install recovery software on the same drive from which you want to recover files.
  • Do not format a RAW partition or confirm initialisation prompts.
  • Do not run CHKDSK, First Aid or "repair drive" tools on media that contains important data.
  • Do not start a RAID/NAS rebuild without diagnostics and a copy of the member disks.

How the laboratory process works

  • Initial interview: device type, symptoms, previous attempts and priority data.
  • Technical diagnosis: failure type, risk level and realistic recovery procedure.
  • Safe imaging or controlled readout: work is performed on a copy whenever possible.
  • File-system and structure recovery: folders, files, databases or RAID/NAS volumes are reconstructed from the working copy.
  • Verification and handoff: recovered data is checked before transfer to a safe target device.

Shipping a device for analysis (all of Poland)

If you are not in Warsaw, you can ship the device to the laboratory. Pack it so it cannot move inside the box, keep it powered off and include contact details plus a short symptom description.

  • Use antistatic or protective packaging for loose drives and flash media.
  • Do not ship a powered-on NAS or external drive without securing the cable and enclosure.
  • For RAID/NAS, label disk order and bay numbers before removing drives.
  • Follow the shipping instructions before sending equipment.
