First Aid for Data

Have a damaged device? Stop before the useful evidence disappears

The most data is lost not by failure itself, but by hastily acting under stress. Before you arrive at the lab or send a report, keep all records on the storage device and just do what's safe.

Safe first step

Stop risky actions before diagnosis

  • Do not format the drive, memory card or USB stick.
  • Do not run CHKDSK or any "repair errors" tool on a damaged device.
  • Do not install data recovery software on the same drive.
  • Do not open an HDD or dismantle the enclosure at home.
  • Do not shake the drive after the fall and don't start the housing at home.
Prepare before the visit

Act safely

  • Disengage power and don't try any more reboots.
  • Note the symptoms: tapping, no detection, RAW, request for formatting or RAID degraded.
  • Protect the storage device from shock, moisture and further recording.
  • Give a brief description of the symptoms if the data is urgent or corporate.
  • Deliver the storage device personally to Białołęka or follow the instructions shipping to the laboratory.

How the process works — clear from the first handover

We check the device condition, the risk of further damage and the realistic recovery route. Only then do you receive the recovery options and a cost range for approval.

1

Contact or case submission

Call, visit the Białołęka laboratory or send a short form. A symptom such as clicking, RAW, no media, degraded RAID or a missing SSD is enough to start.

2

Standard diagnosis

We're checking the condition of the storage device, the risk and the real possibilities of retrieving the data. Only after diagnosis do you get information about options and costs.

3

Decision and recovery

Recovery work starts only after you approve the scenario. The priority is a controlled read, work on copies where possible and the data that matters most to you.

Why clients choose a laboratory instead of a random repair shop

Your device goes directly to the laboratory in Warsaw, not to a random reception point without technical facilities.

Safe diagnosis

First, we assess the real range of activities and the risk of a given case. We do not run tests on your source data without protecting the material.

Direct laboratory work

The same laboratory team handles the device, the assessment and the recovery workflow, so context is not lost between reception and service.

Private and business cases

We handle family photos, laptops, external drives, company NAS units, CCTV recorders and cases that require confidentiality or an NDA.

Paid steps after acceptance

This is especially important when the data is critically business or sentimentally. First a real evaluation, then a customer's decision.

Most common problems reported by clients from Białołęka and nearby areas

Most cases start with a visible symptom: the drive disappears, the partition turns RAW, a NAS volume is degraded or a card asks to be formatted.

The SSD / NVMe disappeared from the system

The disk does not appear in BIOS/UEFI, Windows suspends or partition disappears.

Go to SSD / NVMe recovery →

The RAID / NAS shows degraded status or no volume

Do not rebuild repeatedly or change disk order. Bring the drives with bay order notes, NAS model and any Synology, QNAP or controller logs you have.
